If you support more rental homes in Vancouver and are frustrated by the lack of action by Vancouver Mayor and Council we need your help.
There is a way you can help support three pro rental proposals coming to Vancouver City Council.
Here’s what is going on.
On Wednesday July 21st city staff is recommending city council support three policy improvements which would add rental supply in the city. They are:
1. Changes to commercial zoning (C-2) along main streets to allow for six story rental buildings to be built without rezoning delays.
2. Streamlining the approval process for rental in lower density neighbourhoods through the Secured Rental Policy.
3. The extension and improvement of the Moderate Income Rental Housing Pilot Program (MIRHPP) which allows for more affordable rental homes to be built.
These three simple changes will help add new rental homes in the city. They will even improve the affordable rental home supply we so desperately need.
Help us by telling Vancouver Mayor and Council you support these three important pro rental policy improvements – either by emailing them or commenting on their pages.
